The Majlis Senator Malaysia (MSM), or the Council of Malaysian Senators, was established and registered with the Registrar of Societies in January 2013.
Introduction
The Council of Malaysian Senators (Majlis Senator Malaysia, MSM) consists of current and former members of the Dewan Negara (Senate). MSM plays a vital role in Malaysian democracy by fulfilling its responsibilities as representatives of the people’s voices. To uphold the prestige of the Dewan Negara, it is crucial for Senators to take proactive steps in enhancing the quality of legislation and their contributions to society.

Mission
History of the Council of Malaysian Senators
The Council of Malaysian Senators was established in 2013, inspired by the vision of YBhg Tan Sri Abu Zahar Nikah Ujang. He is a distinguished Malaysian lawyer and politician who served as the President of the Dewan Negara (Malaysian Senate) from 2010 to 2016.
During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in upholding the integrity and effectiveness of Malaysia’s upper house of Parliament. Tan Sri Abu Zahar’s contributions to Malaysia’s legal and political landscape highlight his dedication to democratic governance and national development.

Our Objectives
The objectives of the Council of Malaysian Senators are to:
1. Provide representation for every state in Malaysia.
2. Offer views and opinions in the formulation of national laws.
3. Advise on issues related to national and public interests.
The Council is also responsible for carrying out regulatory functions to oversee the Government and ensure that justice and the people’s interests are prioritized in decision-making processes. Additionally, the Council plays a role in advocating for the rights and interests of the states in Malaysia.
